Detailed day by day itinerary for 14 days ultimate Tanzania Safari

DAY 01: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will be picked up and driven to Tarangire National Park for the day game drive with your picnic lunch boxes. The park Located slightly off the main safari route, Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania that is most famous for its elephant migration, birding, and quiet authentic safari atmosphere.

DAY 02: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Following an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to a walking safari with an armed ranger. Later depart for a game drive until the evening. One of the largest national parks in Tanzania located in the Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attached to it. This park is especially known for the Tarangire River which flows all year round and is the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.

DAY 03: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

You will depart after breakfast for an extended morning game drive. In the afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight

DAY 04 & 05: NGORONGORO

After breakfast you descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a morning, half-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, after which we travel to the Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option request

DAY 06: NDUTU CONTROLLED AREA

Following breakfast, depart for a full day game drive at Ndutu Controlled area with your picnic lunch boxes.

DAY 08: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (Central Seronera)

After breakfast at your accommodation, you will proceed to the Central part of Serengeti. This park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the “big five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffaloes, and Rhinos. You will enjoy wildlife sightings on your game drives in this wildlife-rich area before heading back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your already booked accommodation.

DAY 09: FLY FROM SERONERA TO SELOUS GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, transfer to the Ndutu airstrip for your flight to Selous departing at 9:50 AM and arriving at 12:50 (Coastal Air flight). Upon your arrival, you will be picked up by the driver and depart for a game drive.

DAY 10 &11: SELOUSE GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive at Selous Game reserve.

DAY 12 & 13: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Take a flight from Selous to Ruaha (flight departing at 9:20 am arriving at 11:20 am). You will be picked up and drive to Ruaha National park. In the evening drive to the lodge.

After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive at Ruaha National Park.

DAY 14: FLY FROM RUAHA TO DAR ES SALAAM

Light aircraft flight at Ruaha-Dar Es Salaam (flight departing at 11:45 am and arriving at 13:50 – Coastal air flight.
