Uganda Entry Requirements for Foreigners Post Covid 19

Did you know that Uganda has made it onto the CNN “Must Visit List” for 2023? So, let’s get you all excited and ready for your amazing trip to the breathtaking pearl of Africa.

First and foremost, it’s great that your passport just needs to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Uganda! If you are a visitor to Uganda, it is recommended to have a return ticket as well as sufficient funds for the duration of your stay in the country.

Do I need a Visa to Visit Uganda?

Great news! From now on, you can easily obtain a visa before your arrival at the Entebbe International Airport. It’s great that you can obtain your e-visa in advance of travel! Remember to carry a printed copy of the e-visa for a smooth journey. The official website for submitting your application for an e-visa, which is a convenient and efficient platform for your visa application process. We encourage you to allow ample time for your application to be processed and approved. Make sure to start early and stay ahead of schedule. The official website may have occasional hiccups, but stay positive and patient!

Great news for those holding an Irish Passport, you are not required to obtain a visa to enter Uganda.

Do you need a COVID-19 test to enter Uganda?

Fortunately, it appears that Uganda has overcome the challenges of the COVID 19  pandemic. It is now a positive development that a negative PCR test certificate is no longer required to enter or leave Uganda. If you have a valid COVID Vaccination Certificate, it’s great to have it with you when traveling.

Is Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate required while Entering Uganda?

Fortunately, having a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is a necessary requirement to enter Uganda. You will have the opportunity to present this to the airline at check-in and/or upon arrival to health officials at Entebbe International Airport.

Anyone over the age of one entering Uganda from an infected area or who has been in transit through an infected area must present proof of vaccination against yellow fever.

The following Countries are subjected to this regulation and they included; Angola, Argentina, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Costa Rica, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Honduras.

Exciting Baggage Allowance!

Airlines offer a range of checked-in baggage allowances. The fare that you have paid will determine the generous check-in baggage allowance you will receive for free! Make sure to verify this before getting to the airport so you can avoid paying any excess baggage charges! Your baggage allowance will be clearly displayed on your e-ticket! Airlines have guidelines in place to ensure that everyone can bring their belongings on board the aircraft. Again, make sure to double-check this before heading to the airport.

Give yourself ample time to breeze through security, check-in, and immigration formalities when departing from Entebbe International Airport. We suggest that you arrive at the airport a minimum of 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight to ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience. The airport is bustling in the evenings with exciting late-night international departures.
